1. What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from your Google account. We do not collect or store passwords. If you use features that require an account, we also store the content you create: brew logs, coffee ratings and flavor tags, your shelf (want / current / finished), curated lists, list likes, blog comments, and community event submissions.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general usage patterns). This may involve cookies and standard web analytics data such as your IP address and browser type, collected by Google on our behalf.

When you click a "View on Roaster Website" or similar outbound link, we log that a click happened (which coffee/roaster/promo, when, and your account if you're signed in) so we can measure interest in the catalog. We do not track your activity on the roaster's site after you leave.

2. Why we collect it

Account data powers the features you're using it for: showing your brew history, your ratings, your shelf, and your lists back to you, and attributing content you post (comments, submissions) to your name. Analytics data helps us understand which parts of the site are useful and which aren't. Click data helps us understand which coffees and roasters people are actually interested in.

3. Third parties

We use Google for sign-in (OAuth) and analytics. Community event listings may be sourced from public coffee-community WhatsApp groups — we only read messages in groups we already belong to, never private conversations, and any published event lists only the extracted event details (title, time, location), not the original sender's personal WhatsApp information beyond what they'd publicly post to the group. Outbound purchase links take you to third-party roaster websites, which have their own privacy policies we don't control.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. We don't currently have a self-serve "delete my account" button — if you'd like your data deleted, contact us at [contact email] and we'll remove it.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics cookies for usage tracking. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
